A17 road closure following serious collision last night (17 February)

We are investigating a serious collision involving four vehicles which took place on the A17 last night (17 February).

Our Force Control Room received the report just after 9pm of a collision involving a blue Volvo V50, a black E Class Mercedes, a silver Mitsubishi Shogun and a white Volkswagen Passat.

This was believed to have taken place on the A17 between Sleaford and East Heckington, outside Garwick Farm on Boston Road in Heckington.

A number of people involved in the collision sustained injuries both minor and serious.

The A17 remains closed and will likely be closed for several hours while officers carry out a forensic investigation of the site. Please avoid the area if you can.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation. Inquiries are ongoing.

We are also appealing for further witnesses and anyone who may have captured dashcam footage of the moments leading up to the collision and the collision itself.
